UYSA Annual General Meeting (AGM) Produces Change

Many changes recently came about in the 2009 AGM held on Saturday, May 21, 2009. While only one new face was elected there was a shuffling amongst the Board of Directors. Cindy Baron was elected President, John Gygi Vice President, Scott Dunkley Treasurer, and Debbie Haycock Director of Recreation.

Cindy Baron has served for the last three years as Vice-President, and has previously served in different capacities at the League, District, State and Region Levels.

John Gygi was elected to fill the vacancy created by Baron's succession. John is currently the sitting District 3 Chairman and comes to the Vice Presidency highly qualified to fill this position. Scott Dunkley is a new face to the Board of Directors, but is well qualified to serve the Association and was elected by acclamation as the Treasurer. Joe Johnson, the incumbent chose to step down and the Association is very grateful for his dedication and service.

The incumbent Director of Recreation, Debbie Haycock, was elected to the new term by acclamation. Haycock was previously elected at a Special Council meeting to fill the vacancy left by Terri Baker. We thank Terri Baker for her efforts and service while she was the Director of Recreation.

The Elections were not the only business that took place. Written reports are in the AGM Booklets and there are additional copies still available. The Constitutional Convention presented a Power Point Presentation regarding the Bylaw and Policy rewrite that they are working on. As part of their presentation a Mission, Vision and Value Statement that was developed by the Committee was presented to the State Council and these were voted on and accepted by the State Council.
