Current Team: Head Women's Soccer Coach University of Utah; Utah '93 ODP.


Coaching Experience: 23 years overall, 11 at the collegiate level.


Playing Experience: 4 years at Santa Clara University (1982-1986), Many years at the "let's get in shape" men's level.


Favorite Soccer Teams: L.A. Aztecs (old school); RSL (new school); Boca Juniors (foreign exchange school); L.A. Sol (girls' school).


Favorite Soccer Players: Johann Cruyff, Zinedine Zidane, Jurgen Klinsmann, Paolo Maldini, and Kelly Isleib.


Most Memorable Soccer Experiences: So many...watching a Boca Jrs. game at La Bombanera, 1994 World Cup, 1999 Women's World Cup, 2001 NCAA Championship , MWC Championships with the Utes, u-17 U.S. tour to Argentina, learning from Ralph Perez, Steve Sampson, Jerry Smith, Alberto Bru, Larry Draluck and Tad Bobak, working with committed players.


Coaching Philosophy: The most important step is to create the environment in which your players can learn the game and work well together. Then all they need is opportunity, experience and feedback to reach their potential.


Favorite Movie: "It's A Wonderful Life"


Favorite Book: "The Power of Myth", by Joseph Campbell


Favorite Foods: My wife, Sue, makes a mean chicken tortilla soup.


Special Interests: I play a very amateur guitar.
